Mudder Faulkers
Greetings. My name is Keith and I created this Blog! I have done so for a few reasons, so please allow me to explain.
1. About a year ago I was asked to join a team for a "Tough Mudder." I had no idea what this was, so I quickly googled the name and proceeded to watch their video showing competitors running through mud, scaling walls, and jumping through fire. The video also boasted that this event was, "The Toughest Event on the planet." I was hooked immediately. Myself and about 12 others signed up under the team name, "Mudder Faulkers" and for the next few months we began to train ourselves for this 11-12 mile behemoth of an obstacle course event. We would meet every weekend at various locations to attempt to functionally train ourselves for this event. In my downtime from training I had a lot of questions about what to wear, what shorts would be good for the elements, what type of shoes should I wear, and would I need gloves? I searched the internet tirelessly and more often than not I ended up reading the same persons review of an event more than once. I know there are plenty of folks out there looking for information of this sort, so I will share my experiences to try and assist as best I can.
2. My horizon has been broadened in terms of ways and places to exercise outside of the traditional gym element. I plan on chronicling these experiences without subjecting my facebook friends to this annoyance. From Local Trail runs to National Parks and Mountains, I have had a lot of fun training at places that I never thought I would. I will review locations as I find them as well as advise on any new Mud Runs I find or participate in.
